The Digital Story Company: ‘It’s My Home’

26th May 2021 @ 7:00 pm 9:00 pm

It’s My Home is a 36-piece socially distanced song written and performed by the residents of Stocksfield Road, Marlowe Road and Northwood Tower housing estates and the Project Zero E17 youth champions.

Waltham Forest based filmmaker Kate Hampel (Drive to Survive, Long Way Up, Sunderland Til I Die) worked alongside award-winning composer Rex Horan (Jaw Bone, Neil Cowley Trio, Laura Marling) to create a song and music video based on their experiences of living in the estate communities and the surrounding Wood Street community.

It was commissioned by Waltham Forest Council as part of Waltham Forest Virtual Culture. Funded by the Great Place Scheme. www.wfculture.co.uk/virtual. It was funded by William Morris Big Local’s Community Chest programme.

Every Wednesday we screen a selection of fantastic short films made by filmmakers from Waltham Forest and beyond, all genres including animation. Watch this space for details of upcoming screenings and get in touch with us at GHVirtual*at*gnomehouse.org.uk if you have a short film you’d like to screen
