Black History Month Event by The Rat Pack
Gnome House’s youth steering group the Rat Pack were very excited to be a part of the Black History event held on the 25th of October. The event was a celebration of Afro Colombian culture. The Rack Pack received event management training from a brilliant youth group based in Walthamstow called Project Zero. The youth champions of project Zero worked together with the Rat Pack to help manage the event. With the guidance of Project Zero the Rat Pack learnt new skills like crowd management, how to engage with the general public and delivering workshops. The Rat Pack also created a self-contained jewellery making craft pack inspired by Afro Colombian jewellery worn at carnival. The packs were given out during the event and were a great success.
