The Ideas Kitchen Community dinner: 7pm Saturday 18th June. Gnome House.
What is it?
The Ideas Kitchen is a community arts initiative developed by the Barbican, programmers of the Walthamstow Garden Party, alongside a board of local partners. It gives local artists a platform to pitch their ideas for creative projects to the community, who then decide which one they’d like to see developed.
How does it work?
Local artists and residents have been asked to submit proposals for creative projects that will benefit Waltham Forest. Projects submitted could be anything from running poetry sessions, to dance lessons or arts and crafts workshops.
Short-listed applicants have been invited to attend a dinner to pitch their ideas to the community, who will then vote on their favourite proposal. The person whose idea receives the most votes will get funding to produce their project and be part of the Walthamstow Garden Party on the 16 and 17 July.
How can I get involved?
We’re inviting residents of Waltham Forest to join the community dinner at 7pm on Saturday 18 June and be part of the decision making process.
You’ll be asked for a suggested donation of £5 at the door, in exchange for a hot meal from Sham’s Kitchen and the chance to cast your vote. All money donated will go towards funding the chosen project, so the more donations collected at the door, the more funding the project will receive.
Come and enjoy a meal, cast your vote, and support the arts in your area.
Tickets are free but must be booked in advance HERE
