There is a broad range of events and activities happening at Gnome House this month.

On Saturday 7th May Stow Kids’ Film Lounge presents PAPER PLANES, an imaginative children’s film about a young Australian boy’s passion for flight and his challenge to compete in the World Paper Plane Championships in Japan.

Then in the eveing on 7th May Stow Film Lounge presents TANGERINE (Sean Baker, 2015, Cert 15) A working girl tears through Tinseltown on Christmas Eve searching for the pimp who broke her heart. After hearing that her boyfriend/pimp cheated on her while she was in jail, a prostitute and her new best friend set out to find him and teach him and his lover a lesson.

Vintage Tales: Exhibition @ Gnome House. As part of Dementia Awareness Week

Throughout the Spring London Borough of Waltham Forest have been running a series of art workshops in venues across the borough, open to parents, carers, family, friends and people interested in what it means to be someone living with dementia. Drawing inspiration from vintage fashion participants have worked with artist Anna Alcock from Inky Cuttlefish to bring their memories to life.

On Monday 16th May, from 4.30-6.30pm there is a private view of Vintage Tales. There will be drink & nibbles and all are welcome.

On May 20th Communty Dance Group, Move17 will be taking part in The Big Dance Worldwide Performance Day. Move17 will be performing along with thousands of others across the globe, who will be live linked via the Periscope app. The choreography is by Akram Khan and score by Nitin Sawhney. You can join in by watching – or taking part too!

The performance starts at 7pm with doors at 6.45pm. Tickets on door: £2 (adults) children free

There are now LOTS of weekly events and activities being run at GnomeHouse by local residents, charities and community groups. Here is a selection:
